Bishop Peak Technology, Inc. is a developer of industry-leading intelligent transportation systems. Based on the principle of beautifully intuitive design, the company was one of the first software companies to create transit-specific mobile applications. Founded in 2011 by engineering students (now graduates) from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; Bishop Peak Technology’s systems have been successfully deployed to numerous fixed route transit systems around the country and continues to set the standard for transit software.
Bishop Peak Technology strives to create beautifully intuitive products to enhance the lives of its users.
In the fall of 2011, Jeff Brown & Zach Negrey began work on a class project at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) with a dream to merge everyday consumer electronics with real-time information to enhance the experience of riding public transportation. This cumulated in the development of a mobile application to track the city’s buses using an Android smartphone. As the new app quickly gained popularity among the 23,000 students within the community, an iOS version was developed and John Osumi joined the team. Following our roots, Bishop Peak Technology continues to collaborate with city, university, and community members to deploy the latest technologies for mass transit.
